This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, emphasizing professional growth, team well-being, and career advancement.
• Provide ongoing coaching, constructive feedback, goal-setting, and discussions focused on career progression.
• Establish clarity regarding priorities, expectations, responsibilities, and successful outcomes.
• Collaborate with product and engineering leadership to set priorities, drive execution, and achieve desired results.
• Support projects through all phases, including planning, architecture, implementation, rollout, and long-term maintenance.
• Comprehend system design, review technical plans, engage in architectural discussions, and assess trade-offs.
• Assist with code reviews and technical feedback while primarily empowering the team rather than frequently contributing production code.
• Remove obstacles for engineers by providing context, connecting individuals, and clarifying priorities.
• Participate in the conceptualization and technical design of new ideas and product enhancements.
• Propel architectural improvements for scalability, reliability, maintainability, and performance.
• Reinforce engineering standards, development practices, testing routines, and ownership.
• Encourage quality, accountability, collaboration, and a culture of continuous improvement.
• Work alongside the CTO, engineering leadership, and cross-functional partners to enhance products and technical infrastructure.
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, mentoring, performance evaluations, and career development within engineering.
• Cultivate a collaborative, low-ego, high-ownership culture in a fully remote work environment.
• Over 7 years of professional software engineering experience, ideally in developing modern web applications.
• Proven experience in managing, leading, or mentoring engineers in a rapidly evolving technical setting.
• A genuine passion for people management, coaching, feedback, and fostering engineer development.
• Strong technical acumen and the ability to comprehend code, architecture, system design, and engineering trade-offs.
• Comfortable participating in code reviews and engaging in technical discussions.
• Bachelor's Degree is required, preferably in Computer Science.
• Capability to design systems and features with a focus on scalability, security, reliability, and performance.
• Experience with databases and optimizing query performance.
• Able to thrive in a fully remote working environment.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country for which application is made.
