Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Evaluate the requirements of agile teams and recruit and onboard new team members as necessary within established budgets.

• Inspire the team to achieve their best output in a healthy and sustainable work environment.

• Oversee 6 to 12 software engineers, including conducting performance evaluations and providing coaching and mentorship to engineers.

• Lead the delivery of high-quality software in a regulated setting in accordance with quarterly objectives.

• Shield teams from interruptions and distractions while addressing critical issues as a priority.

• Assist in quarterly planning and facilitate discussions among Engineering, Product, and Business stakeholders.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product and Customer Operations.

• Develop a thorough understanding of Velsera’s product offerings from business, customer, and product viewpoints.

• Report on development, quality, operations, and system performance metrics to management using established criteria.

• Ensure the implementation of agile software development practices, ensuring processes are both efficient and effective.

• Recommend improvements to processes across teams when appropriate.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering.

• Strong leadership abilities with a talent for inspiring and motivating a team of software engineers.

• Effective communication skills, capable of collaborating well with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• A solution-oriented mindset as a servant leader for agile engineering teams, providing assistance to unblock individuals and processes.

• A solid technical foundation in software engineering, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the software development sector.

• Proficient in Agile methodologies and Software Development Life Cycle management processes.

• Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills, with a proven track record of actively driving processes to achieve quality results.

• Strong presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.

• Experience in software development within a regulated environment is an advantage.
