This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead and mentor engineers and engineering managers, fostering their professional development.
• Create scalable, secure, and user-centric products that meet high-quality standards.
• Collaborate with product, design, and business stakeholders to establish strategy, prioritize objectives, and align roadmaps.
• Deliver outstanding products while emphasizing security, compliance, user experience, and reliability in a fast-paced trading environment.
• Offer hands-on technical support and guidance to teams during complex challenges.
• Take ownership of team dynamics and the development of individual team members.
• Recognize high achievers for growth opportunities and identify lower performers who may require additional support.
• Conduct performance evaluations, manage promotions, and ensure effective succession planning.
• Provide leadership and technical direction to teams and managers.
• Track metrics, objectives, and missions for individuals and teams.
• Supervise and empower engineering teams while maintaining accountability.
• Ensure teams have the right structure, processes, and resources to succeed.
• Advocate for best practices in software development, security, system architecture, and risk management.
• Participate in the recruitment and retention of global engineering talent.
• Challenge existing norms to enhance customer value and deliver innovative, high-quality software solutions.
• Balance the delivery of new features with the reduction of technical debt, facilitating trade-off discussions with stakeholders.
• Influence cross-functional partners and contribute to the technical strategy and roadmap of Engineering.
• Over 6 years of experience in managing engineering teams.
• At least 2 years of experience managing managers.
• Strong expertise in trading or investment platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to scale engineering teams, optimize delivery processes, and manage high-throughput, mission-critical systems.
• In-depth technical knowledge in software engineering, architecture, and team development.
• Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.
• Capable of effective collaboration across functions, locations, and remote/distributed teams.
• Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools, including Splunk and Datadog.
• Experience with Git and automated CI/CD methodologies.
• Strong coordination skills for large multidisciplinary product engineering teams.
• Ability to inspire teams through practical challenges and promote a culture of psychological safety.
• Experience in building and launching large-scale user-facing products.
• Comfortable with modern delivery practices, including DevOps principles.
• Passionate about the crypto ecosystem.
• Nice-to-have: knowledge of crypto and trading.
• Nice-to-have: experience with Kubernetes, gRPC, REST, microservices, and cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP.
• Nice-to-have: experience with user-facing mobile or web applications.
• Nice-to-have: familiarity with Shape Up or similar fixed-cycle product development methodologies.
