Senior Engineering Manager – Tech Lead

📋 Description

• Establish the technical direction for the Marketplace team.

• Create and implement a system that efficiently delivers valuable offers to users.

• Oversee and mentor 3–5 direct reports across various sub-teams.

• Assist reports in advancing their professional development.

• Cultivate team-level processes that encourage consistency and collaboration in a remote-first environment.

• Maintain effective cross-functional collaboration among engineering, product, design, and data teams.

• Advocate for essential system modifications.

• Ensure a seamless onboarding experience for new engineers and assist the team in refining the process.

• Function as a player-coach, taking on the role of technical lead while managing 3–5 teammates across multiple sub-teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in designing and developing web or mobile applications, particularly in ad tech or consumer products.

• More than 2 years of experience managing engineers at various levels in a start-up remote-first setting.

• Strong proficiency in AI and the capability to think systematically about its optimal application.

• A growth mindset, curiosity, and a desire to comprehend the operation of the Marketplace business.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• A passion for positively impacting users' lives.

• Experience with or knowledge of government services, especially SNAP, WIC, TANF, SSI, SSDI, Medicaid, or Section 8, is advantageous.

• Must have authorization to work in the United States for any employer.

• Must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.
