This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Vietnam.
• Oversee development processes with Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers throughout all sample phases.
• Evaluate development samples, including sales samples from various countries of origin.
• Execute tasks related to new bottoms, uppers, color-ups, fit approval, material testing, wear trials, swatch sign-off, and cost validation.
• Organize the Buy Ready process for each SKU.
• Convey product and performance specifications to suppliers.
• Address issues concerning construction, performance, costing, and procedural matters.
• Coordinate factory capacity and material procurement in line with the production schedule.
• Assess tech package details and verify pattern grading and tooling preparedness.
• Validate sample size patterns and molds for sales samples.
• Assist in the formulation of production specifications.
• Suggest and implement ideas for cost reduction, efficiency enhancement, automation, and quality improvement.
• Carry out Tech 2 trials and verify fit and wear testing.
• Introduce new products and communicate quality risks during tear-down and NPI meetings.
• Provide support during pre-production and production stages as necessary.
• Contribute to VF's product strategic initiatives and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure production quality, timely delivery, and adherence to VF standards.
• Extensive technical expertise in footwear categories and material characteristics.
• Fundamental understanding of automation and computer stitching for upper pattern creation.
• General knowledge of last making, measurements, and mold/bottom evaluation.
• Capability to integrate technical applications without sacrificing design or cost.
• Proficiency in identifying product quality and integrity risks and suggesting corrective measures.
• Strong skills in relationship-building with factories and cross-functional teams.
• Experience with branded footwear is mandatory.
• Background in product development, commercialization, pre-production, and production in footwear or related sectors within a multinational corporation.
• Good command of English along with excellent communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
