Senior Engineer, R&D Software Quality

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hungary.

📋 Description

• Act as a senior technical contributor within the Software Quality Engineering team.

• Evaluate product requirements and engineering specifications to devise test strategies, determine testing scope, and recognize quality risks.

• Develop comprehensive test plans that incorporate manual testing, automated validation, and risk-based coverage.

• Design, create, and sustain automation frameworks, scripts, and libraries for web, API, and mobile applications.

• Implement AI-assisted techniques in test design, script development, failure analysis, maintenance, and quality enhancement.

• Establish consistent testing methodologies that facilitate parallel product development and automation delivery.

• Validate microservices-based solutions through functional, integration, system, regression, and end-to-end testing.

• Diagnose failures by examining application logs, test environments, service behavior, and database results utilizing SQL.

• Collaborate with software developers, system administrators, database administrators, Product Management, and DevOps teams to address quality concerns.

• Manage test cases, requirements traceability, execution evidence, and defects within test management tools.

• Review automation and testing efforts carried out by junior engineers, providing technical guidance, training, and constructive feedback.

• Identify root causes of quality issues and facilitate corrective actions to resolution.

• Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of testing tools, automation practices, development processes, and team standards.

• Clearly communicate quality status, risks, findings, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

• At least 5 years of experience in software quality engineering or software testing.

• Extensive experience in designing and maintaining automated tests for web, API, or mobile applications.

• Proficient in JavaScript, SQL, and automation tools such as Selenium, Katalon, Playwright, or similar technologies.

• Practical knowledge of AI-assisted software testing, automation development, or quality analysis.

• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and techniques for functional, integration, system, and regression testing.

• Experience collaborating with software developers to investigate and resolve complex testing failures.

• Familiarity with test and defect management platforms; experience with Polarion is a plus.

• Experience with Agile development methodologies; knowledge of Scaled Agile Framework is a plus.

• Familiarity with DevOps practices, cloud-based solutions, microservices, and regulated software environments is preferred.

• Knowledge of 21 CFR Part 11 and current Good Practice requirements is advantageous.

• Strong analytical, mentoring, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Professional fluency in English.

• Willingness to travel occasionally, if necessary.
