Senior Engineer – Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Automate the provisioning and management of configurations in line with infrastructure-as-code best practices.

• Develop and sustain automated scripts for building, configuring, deploying, and testing applications across various environments.

• Oversee, support, and enhance the continuous integration environment.

• Minimize human errors and elevate product operation quality and security through automation.

• Expand delegation to AWS platforms and services to aid the business mission.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to identify and address development challenges.

• Design tools, infrastructure, and processes aimed at enhancing engineering productivity.

• Create internal tools and applications that act as a force multiplier for engineering teams.

• Manage a balance between short-term tactical tasks and long-term projects within a small, agile team.

• Assess application performance and work to enhance efficiency.

• Define system and application security requirements and devise security solutions.

• Engage in on-call rotation and address production application issues.

• Work closely with engineering teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience in software engineering, systems administration, or DevOps.

• Proficient in Linux (CentOS preferred).

• Practical AWS IaaS administration experience using SDKs, CLI, and console.

• Familiarity with object-oriented programming principles.

• Skilled in Python, Go, Ruby, or JavaScript.

• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, Terraform, or CloudFormation.

• Background in MySQL database administration.

• Master’s degree in Computer Engineering or an equivalent qualification.

• A GitHub repository link for a project is required.

• Familiarity with AWS technologies, including EC2, S3, SQS, SNS, RDS, IAM, Lambda, DynamoDB, and CloudFormation.

• Experience managing cloud infrastructure in AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Proven experience in developing automation using Ansible, Chef, and Terraform.

• Experience running Docker containers on Kubernetes (EKS) and Istio.

• Programming experience in Python, Go, Ruby, JavaScript, Shell/Bash, Java, HTML5, and CSS.

• Knowledge of web and application server management and configuration, including Apache, Nginx, Tomcat, JBoss, and NodeJS.

• Experience in building, optimizing, hardening, and troubleshooting CentOS Linux operating systems.

• Understanding of relational databases, especially MySQL.

• Comprehension of secure, performant, reliable, and durable systems and architecture.

• Familiarity with RESTful APIs.

• Experience with web frameworks such as Angular, React, or jQuery.

• Knowledge of code repository best practices and Git/GitHub/Git Flow workflows.

• Familiarity with continuous integration tools like Jenkins/Hudson, Harness, CircleCI, Maven, Ant, Sonar, and Artifactory.

• A security-minded approach to safeguarding systems and infrastructure.

• Understanding of cloud-based DNS and load-balancing strategies.

• Experience monitoring production services with Datadog, Splunk, and AppDynamics.
