Senior Engineer, Mobile Applications

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain mobile functionalities across Residential mobile applications for both iOS and Android platforms.

• Oversee the technical execution of intricate React Native and TypeScript mobile projects within a shared-codebase framework.

• Create and support integrations with REST APIs, GraphQL services, authentication frameworks, and backend-for-frontend or gateway solutions.

• Engage in backend-related tasks, such as API contract formulation, session management, payload processing, and troubleshooting service integrations.

• Enhance application stability, performance, responsiveness, and release quality on both iOS and Android.

• Assist in defining mobile architecture, state management, secure local storage solutions, synchronization behavior, and maintainable component structures.

• Diagnose production issues spanning mobile, API, authentication, and cloud service boundaries.

• Participate in CI/CD processes, ensure release readiness, manage app store submissions, and uphold secure engineering practices.

• Collaborate with cloud engineering, product, UX, QA, and support teams to deliver comprehensive solutions.

• Mentor junior engineers and engage in code reviews, technical design discussions, and promote engineering best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related Hard Science (Physical, Life, or Applied Science).

• Over 7 years of experience in software engineering.

• At least 4 years of experience in building and deploying production mobile applications for both iOS and Android.

• A minimum of 3 years of practical experience with React Native and TypeScript.

• At least 2 years of experience integrating mobile applications with REST APIs, GraphQL APIs, or similar service-oriented backends.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience working with authentication, authorization, token lifecycle management, and secure session handling in production environments.

• At least 2 years of experience in building, supporting, or troubleshooting backend or cloud services in AWS or comparable cloud settings.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience debugging issues across application, API, and cloud service interfaces.

• At least 2 years of experience working with modern CI/CD, code review, testing, and release workflows for mobile application delivery.

• Ability to work collaboratively during U.S. Eastern Time business hours.

• Experience with connected-home, IoT, smart device, or subscription-based consumer applications.

• Familiarity with backend technologies such as Node.js and TypeScript for API or service layer development.

• Knowledge of API gateways, backend-for-frontend patterns, or identity-provider integrations.

• Familiarity with secure local storage techniques such as Keychain, MMKV, SecureStore, AsyncStorage, or similar methods.

• Experience with state management and data fetching patterns like Redux Toolkit, RTK Query, or similar methodologies.

• Knowledge of mobile observability, crash analysis, and production diagnostics using tools such as Crashlytics, LogRocket, or equivalent platforms.

• Experience with native integrations, including BLE, biometrics, camera or QR flows, OEM SDKs, or React Native native modules.

• Familiarity with AWS-backed platforms, cloud debugging, and operational concepts in backend services.

• Experience utilizing AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude, Kiro, or similar technologies to enhance coding, debugging, testing, and delivery processes.
