Senior Engineer II, Integrations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and implement intricate, high-volume integrations with external systems.

• Take ownership of the entire integration framework, encompassing self-service setup, scalability, rate limiting, retries, and monitoring integration health.

• Troubleshoot, configure, and manage live integrations in production, including providing support directly during customer calls.

• Continuously enhance backend architecture to accommodate thousands of users while ensuring systems are robust and scalable.

• Guarantee the reliability of applications, ensuring they are well-instrumented and free from bugs, with clear accountability for monitoring integration health.

• Contribute to the development of product and architectural strategies, including selecting tools, practices, and platform decisions.

• Collaborate with product, design, and customer success teams to deploy and support integrations for real users.


⛳️ Requirements

• 8–12 years of experience in full-stack development, with roughly 80% focused on backend and 20% on frontend.

• Highly skilled in TypeScript and Node (Express).

• Strong background in data schema modeling and relational databases.

• Extensive experience in creating read/write integrations with external systems and handling large data transfers daily.

• Solid understanding of ETL processes, data normalization, webhooks, polling, idempotency, rate limiting/throttling, back-off and retry logic, and dead-letter queues.

• Familiarity with API design and lifecycle management, including public/external APIs, API versioning, OAuth, and authentication protocols.

• Experience with scheduled jobs, workers, and queue systems such as Prisma, BullMQ, SQS, or RabbitMQ.

• Proficient in debugging live issues and gathering integration requirements through customer interactions.

• Capable of instrumenting systems to identify failures before they affect customers.

• Able to evaluate infrastructure trade-offs including worker scaling, queue backpressure, and failure isolation.

• Competent in utilizing AI tools responsibly, understanding generated code, and exercising independent judgment.
