This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Collaborate closely with the HCM Integration Manager as the primary technical leader and main technical liaison.
• Deliver daily technical guidance for integrations that support HCM and third-party platforms, including Fidelity, Shareworks, Aetna, and various benefits, payroll, equity, and enterprise systems.
• Act as a secondary escalation point and decision-maker for critical HCM integration challenges.
• Create redundancy through comprehensive documentation, cross-training, knowledge transfer, runbooks, and defining primary/secondary ownership.
• Participate in roadmap planning, prioritization, resource allocation, architectural decisions, vendor management, and execution of deliverables.
• Provide technical oversight across HCM and OIC development, encompassing architecture/design reviews, code quality, testing, deployment, monitoring, and production support.
• Mentor and cultivate engineers while establishing consistent engineering practices.
• Offer leadership support during the absence of the HCM Integration Manager.
• Identify areas of concentrated knowledge or ownership and create succession and coverage strategies.
• Assist in incident management by ensuring monitoring, escalation paths, recovery protocols, and backup ownership for critical integrations.
• Over 10 years of progressive experience in enterprise application engineering, HCM technology, integrations, or a closely related technical field.
• Proven experience in the role of Lead Engineer, Principal Engineer, or Staff Engineer, responsible for guiding complex technical architecture and engineering best practices.
• Extensive hands-on experience with enterprise HCM platforms and HCM integrations, ideally within complex, large-scale environments.
• Strong expertise in designing, developing, supporting, and troubleshooting integrations between HCM platforms and third-party providers in areas such as benefits, payroll, retirement, equity/stock administration, identity, and employee data management.
• In-depth knowledge of REST/SOAP APIs, web services, middleware/iPaaS, SFTP/file-based integrations, batch processing, and event-driven integrations.
• Significant experience with Oracle HCM Cloud, OIC, Oracle HCM APIs, HCM Extracts, HDL/HSDL, and associated Oracle integration technologies.
• Solid experience in creating HCM integration templates (RTF, XSLT).
• Proficient in developing fast formulas and value sets.
• Familiarity with HCM security models, user roles, role creation, and areas of responsibility (AORs).
• Strong background in Visual Builder Studio (VBS) for page customizations.
• Understanding and support of HCM workflows for routing, notifications, and approvals.
• Comprehensive understanding of the full software development lifecycle.
• Experience in establishing engineering practices related to source control, CI/CD, automated testing, code quality, observability, documentation, and release management.
• Proven ability to support business-critical production systems, including incident management, root-cause analysis, troubleshooting, escalation management, and preventive measures.
• Experience in building operational resilience through cross-training, documentation, knowledge transfer, succession planning, and ownership models.
• Strong understanding of data security, privacy, access controls, and sensitive employee information.
• Experience collaborating with HR/HCM, Benefits, Payroll, Finance, Security, Enterprise Technology, and external vendors.
• Excellent technical judgment, organizational and prioritization skills, along with proficient written and verbal communication abilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems.
• Experience providing technical leadership for a substantial portfolio of HCM integrations across various vendors and business functions.
• Experience working with geographically distributed teams, including both onshore and offshore engineers.
• Familiarity with operating in a SOX-controlled or similarly regulated enterprise environment.
• Experience in establishing on-call rotations, production-support models, engineering SLAs/SLOs, monitoring, and escalation frameworks.
• Demonstrated ability to identify key-person dependencies and develop technical and leadership redundancy.
• Experience collaborating closely with engineering management in a complementary technical leadership framework.
• Proven track record of serving as a trusted senior individual contributor and technical authority.
• Experience utilizing Jira for SDLC, backlog management, work planning, reporting, and sprint ceremonies including grooming.
