Senior Engineer – Distribution

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Deliver technical leadership and engineering knowledge for projects involving overhead and underground electrical distribution systems.

• Utilize client standards, best practices within the industry, and regulatory guidelines in the design and implementation of distribution projects.

• Assist in project execution by overseeing assignments, evaluating performance, resolving technical challenges, and fostering strong client relationships.

• Create and manage engineering design packages using client-specific software and design tools, such as Distribution Design Studio, Pole Foreman, Design Manager, WMS, and AutoCAD.

• Conduct QA/QC reviews of engineering and design outputs to guarantee technical accuracy, quality, consistency, and adherence to project requirements.

• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and designers through training, design evaluations, and knowledge sharing.

• Engage with internal teams, clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to facilitate successful project outcomes.

• Recognize opportunities for enhancing engineering processes, design standards, team dynamics, and technical skills.

• Uphold productivity and flexibility in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or a related field) from an ABET-accredited institution.

• At least 8 years of experience in electric utility distribution engineering and design.

• Proven experience in designing and supporting overhead and underground distribution systems.

• Familiarity with utility distribution standards, NESC requirements, and utility construction practices.

• Proficient in utility design and work management software, including Pole Foreman, Design Manager/Electric Office, WMS, AutoCAD, or similar platforms.

• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

• Experience in preparing, reviewing, and coordinating engineering design packages and construction work orders.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client relationship management skills.

• Capacity to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Outstanding organizational, document management, and attention-to-detail abilities.

• Proven ability to conduct technical reviews and ensure the quality, accuracy, and compliance of engineering deliverables.

• Experience in mentoring and providing technical guidance to engineers, designers, and technical staff.
