Senior Engineer – Distribution

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Deliver technical leadership and engineering proficiency for projects involving both overhead and underground electrical distribution systems.

• Implement client standards, industry best practices, and regulatory guidelines in the design and execution of distribution projects.

• Facilitate project execution by overseeing assignments, tracking performance, resolving technical challenges, and nurturing strong client relationships.

• Create and manage engineering design packages utilizing client-specific software and design tools, including Distribution Design Studio, Pole Foreman, BOUD, Maximo, and/or AutoCAD.

• Conduct QA/QC evaluations of engineering and design outputs to guarantee technical accuracy, quality, consistency, and adherence to project specifications.

• Mentor and offer technical support to junior engineers and designers through training, design assessments, and knowledge sharing.

• Liaise with internal teams, clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure successful project execution.

• Recognize opportunities for enhancing engineering processes, design standards, team performance, and technical skills.

• Sustain productivity and adaptability within a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or a related field) from an ABET-accredited institution.

• Over 8 years of experience in electric utility distribution engineering and design.

• Proficient in designing and supporting both overhead and underground distribution systems.

• Familiarity with utility distribution standards, NESC requirements, and utility construction practices.

• Expertise in utility design and work management software, including Pole Foreman, Maximo, BOUD, DDS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar platforms.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

• Experience in preparing, reviewing, and coordinating engineering design packages and construction work orders.

• Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and client relationship management capabilities.

• Ability to handle multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced setting.

• Exceptional organizational skills, document management abilities, and attention to detail.

• Proven track record in conducting technical reviews to assure quality, accuracy, and compliance of engineering deliverables.

• Experience in mentoring and providing technical direction to engineers, designers, and technical personnel.
