Senior Engineer, Data

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Convert data from various systems to deliver insights and analytics to business stakeholders.

• Utilize cloud-based infrastructure to create scalable, resilient, and efficient technological solutions.

• Work in collaboration with Data Engineers, Data Analysts, Data Scientists, DBAs, cross-functional teams, and business partners.

• Design, implement, and manage data engineering solutions using Agile methodology.

• Aid in making informed business decisions through data engineering solutions.

• Engage in the complete software development lifecycle, from design to deployment.

• Employ knowledge of the entire data lifecycle across applications, machine learning, business analytics, and reporting.

• Manage and take responsibility for assigned technical projects.

• Consistently enhance the quality, efficiency, and scalability of data pipelines.

• Undertake additional duties as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience post-degree.

• Over 4 years of development experience in constructing and maintaining ETL pipelines.

• At least 3 years of experience in Python development.

• Familiarity with AWS integrations such as Kinesis, Firehose, Aurora Unload, Redshift, Spectrum, Elastic MapReduce, SageMaker, and Lambda.

• Proven experience in mentoring junior team members through code reviews and advocating for adherence to best practices.

• Strong understanding of writing test cases to ensure data quality, reliability, and confidence.

• Proven track record of adopting new technologies to enhance data quality and reliability.

• Proficient SQL skills, including performance tuning, indexes, and materialized views.

• Advanced understanding of OLTP and OLAP environments.

• Skilled in designing and implementing NoSQL databases for Big Data storage and retrieval.

• Experience with API code integrations with external vendors.

• Familiarity with data orchestration pipelines using Argo or Airflow.

• Knowledge of analytic tools such as R, Tableau, Plotly, and Python Pandas.

• Experience in the financial services industry is a plus.
