This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +1 more state.
• Shape the future of data platforms and banking within the cloud environment.
• Propel innovation and provide scalable, reusable data solutions to intricate challenges.
• Direct the technical strategy for data pipelines and data-sharing capabilities across various business lines.
• Foster best practices, enhance engineering and delivery speed, ensure platform scalability, operational excellence, performance, and resilience.
• Cultivate awareness and encourage the adoption of modern technologies.
• Advocate for engineering excellence and the reuse of inner-sourced solutions.
• Engage with and sway stakeholders throughout the enterprise.
• Provide guidance on technology, platform, and capability domains.
• Mentor existing talent and attract new external candidates.
• Investigate emerging trends in data, AI, and engineering, and create an integration roadmap.
• Oversee strategic alignment and integration decisions across data systems and business units.
• Manage data strategy artifacts, governance policies, architecture blueprints, and data product roadmaps.
• Design and code essential data projects while influencing architectural standards.
• Engage directly with AWS, Lakehouse architecture, Kafka, Flink, Spark, Snowflake, Databricks, Python, SQL, Java, and/or Scala.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Engineering).
• A minimum of 9 years of experience in data engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience in data architecture.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience building applications on AWS.
• At least 7 years of programming experience with Python, Java, or Scala.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in designing and developing data pipelines.
• At least 4 years of experience in data modeling and developing end-to-end data solutions using both relational and non-relational database systems.
• Preferred: Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Preferred: Over 11 years of experience in data engineering.
• Preferred: More than 8 years of data modeling experience.
• Preferred: Familiarity with ontology standards, machine learning model deployment, public cloud environments, distributed data or compute workloads, real-time or streaming data pipelines, data observability or orchestration tools, NoSQL databases, data warehousing solutions, Agile development, and reusable data products.
