Senior Data Platform Engineer – Snowflake

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Contribute to architectural decisions and set standards.

• Assume a strategic role in advancing the data platform's development.

• Create a new data lake.

• Develop Snowflake as the foundational data system for the entire organization.

• Establish a new Business Intelligence landscape utilizing data from all segments of the company.

• Integrate data from the affiliated company, JobRad Leasing.

• Lay the groundwork for forecasting capabilities.

• Construct automated, high-performance, and reliable data pipelines with CI/CD.

• Offer technical mentorship to the team.

• Collaborate with executive leadership, department heads, and business units as an equal partner.

• Continue to evolve the department into a benchmark for the entire JobRad® Group.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2–3 years of hands-on experience in a production environment with Snowflake.

• Understanding of Snowflake performance tuning, cost management, and best practices.

• Strong skills in SQL and Python.

• Experience in building ETL/ELT pipelines, such as with dbt, Airflow, or Talend.

• Familiarity with CI/CD processes and Infrastructure as Code.

• Knowledge of data warehouses, data lakes, and data modeling concepts.

• Experience with at least one cloud service platform; AWS is preferred, and familiarity with Azure is a plus.

• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and establish standards.

• Confident communication skills with stakeholders up to the executive management level.

• Experience or the willingness to provide technical mentorship to peers and assume technical responsibilities.

• Advanced proficiency in German at the B2/C1/C2 level.

• Good command of English.

• Must be based in Germany.
