Senior Engineer, Backend – Consumer Experience Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and construct backend functionalities that enhance Renew Home customer experiences and integrate with third-party devices for energy-efficient automation.

• Act as the technical lead for essential product experience workflows.

• Collaborate with teams in engineering, analytics, and product management.

• Work across the technology stack, including Python, Nx, PostgreSQL, Celery, AWS/GCP, Ubuntu, Apache, Redis, Git, and Jira.

• Implement and manage API monitoring tools while actively overseeing API service performance.

• Engage in regular team meetings, standups, one-on-ones, and peer code reviews.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in developing backend software services.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, or equivalent experience in the software industry.

• Proven experience in creating features designed for scalability and performance using scalable APIs and REST frameworks.

• Strong skills in SQL.

• Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases, including MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Redshift, and MongoDB.

• Robust background in software engineering.

• Proficient in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, PHP, or Ruby.

• Ability to navigate through ambiguity effectively.

• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.

• Experience with scalable distributed data processing.

• Familiarity with AWS Lambda/Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, or Prefect tools.

• Experience with cloud automation and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.

• Background in the electric power sector.

• Experience collaborating with external partners.

• Must have authorization to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
