Senior Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Assist the customer and Project Manager in Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PM PNT)

• Aid in the design, development, and integration of intricate electrical and electronic engineering projects

• Carry out system integration, including the installation and integration of electrical and electronic systems and subsystems into host platforms and customer environments

• Support engineering activities throughout design, development, integration, testing, deployment, and field support

• Analyze and resolve complex system-level challenges, identify root causes, and facilitate corrective actions

• Install, configure, and validate electrical and timing-sensitive equipment that supports GCS operations

• Perform calibration of timing devices, including assessing oscillator health, drift measurements, and verifying synchronization accuracy

• Assess power systems, grounding paths, RF cabling, lightning protection interfaces, and environmental control subsystems at GMS sites

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of wiring diagrams, signal paths, calibration data, component serial numbers, and electrical test results

• Offer technical support for site installations and annual maintenance at various global locations

• Carry out emergency maintenance on mission-critical electrical and timing components

• Analyze faults using cable analyzers, oscilloscopes, test load tools, and GPS-timing verification equipment

• Conduct tabletop exercises to evaluate and enhance operational procedures while ensuring compliance

• Assist with site visits, routine maintenance, calibration, and equipment installation

• Participate in planning and status meetings

• Travel to locations within and outside the continental United States

⛳️ Requirements

• MA/MS from an accredited college or university is required

• An engineering degree in electronics or electrical engineering is preferred

• Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the design, development, and integration of electrical/electronic systems is required

• A BS degree combined with sixteen (16) years of experience can substitute for the MA/MS degree requirement

• ACTIVE Secret clearance is required

• Detail-oriented with exceptional technical, verbal, and written communication skills

• Willingness to travel at least 50% of the time

• Ability to work Monday through Friday with flexibility around core hours

• Capable of working in government offices, military bases and depots, warehouse/maintenance shops, and field environments, including extended periods outdoors

• Ability to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands

• Must be able to wear necessary PPE, including glasses/goggles, hearing protection, hard hats, and breathing respirators/masks

• Proficient in operating powered vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, and forklifts

• Capable of lifting, pushing, or pulling objects weighing over 50 pounds

• Able to endure equipment noise and prolonged periods of sitting and computer use
