Senior Energy Risk Engineering Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Oversee the account risk portfolio and deliver account-level engineering to fulfill underwriting requirements.

• Create and execute customer service strategies that minimize losses, enhance customer safety operations, and generate service fees.

• Assist underwriting teams by offering risk evaluations on current and potential accounts.

• Participate in customer and broker meetings to showcase service capabilities.

• Supervise engineering services to guarantee timely, proper, and cost-effective delivery.

• Conduct field risk assessments to analyze casualty and environmental exposures and evaluate control effectiveness at insured sites across the United States, particularly in Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana.

• Offer consultative and risk mitigation services to clients.

• Identify exposures with high loss potential.

• Perform root cause analyses of significant losses.

• Assess safety management programs.

• Aid in marketing risk engineering services alongside underwriting professionals and agents across various company business segments.

• Provide service to customers within the U.S., with anticipated travel of up to 50%.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Energy Casualty Risk Engineering field OR a High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the Energy Casualty Risk Engineering field OR Zurich Certified Apprentice, which includes an associate’s degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Energy Casualty Risk Engineering area.

• Experience in a team-oriented environment.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering and/or OGP EHS.

• 5+ years of experience in downstream, midstream, and/or upstream operations.

• Experience in insurance loss control/risk engineering is advantageous.

• Strong consultative and risk reduction abilities.

• Sales-oriented mindset; experience in fee-for-service is a plus.

• Proficient in written and verbal communication.

• Adept in computer and software skills.

• Self-motivated; works independently and demonstrates initiative.

• Customer-focused and relationship-driven with both internal and external stakeholders.

• Knowledge of oil and gas operations with practical risk insights.

• Excellent time management, report turnaround, and follow-up skills.

• Comfortable presenting to groups at all business levels.

• Familiarity with OSHA, DOT, OGP safety, and fleet programs.
