Senior Energy Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Evaluate technical energy efficiency applications for incentives and rebates for Ameren Illinois electric and natural gas clients.

• Analyze energy-consuming systems within the industrial and/or commercial sectors, such as HVAC, lighting, compressed air systems, and energy management systems.

• Investigate technology advancements to enhance the energy efficiency program and propose implementation improvement strategies.

• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the Illinois Technical Reference Manual and related energy efficiency principles.

• Assess existing energy savings methodologies for quality assurance and enhancements.

• Utilize independent judgment to validate technical specifications across various energy savings initiatives.

• Collaborate and offer direction to supporting teams regarding energy efficiency programs.

• Engage closely with contractors, suppliers, architects, and project engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Over six (6+) years of relevant experience.

• Previous experience in energy efficiency or related technologies.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel.

• Ability to collaborate effectively within a technical team and with team members from non-technical backgrounds.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Excellent planning, organization, time management, and team-building abilities.

• CEM or LEED certification is preferred.

• Familiarity with utility-offered products or services is preferred.

• Experience working with commercial contractors is preferred.

• Background in Advanced Lighting and Controls, Commercial HVAC, Compressed Air, or Industrial Process technology is preferred.

• Knowledge of the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) or ASHRAE Efficiency Standards is preferred.

• Experience with COMcheck, eQuest, Trane TRACE™, or Carrier HAP is preferred.

• Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software is preferred.

• Exceptional English oral and written communication skills.
