Industrial Hygienist / Process Safety Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create complex single-turn prompts within the realms of chemistry and chemical safety.

• Categorize prompts as benign, dual-use, or adversarial.

• Assess model responses based on a specified policy standard.

• Evaluate whether responses accurately addressed technical inquiries.

• Craft reference answers and elucidate the technical rationale behind them.

• Differentiate between legitimate professional inquiries and potentially harmful misuse requests.

• Provide written justifications that are clear to non-experts.

• Engage in reading and writing about misuse scenarios in the field for extended periods.

⛳️ Requirements

• Relevant expertise in industrial hygiene, process hazard analysis, toxic release and dispersion modeling, ventilation/containment/PPE program design for chemical hazards, or regulatory compliance.

• Experience in evaluating actual exposures and process hazards and approving controls.

• Certification as an industrial hygienist, including experience in exposure assessment, sampling strategy, and control banding.

• Familiarity with process hazard analysis methodologies, including HAZOP, LOPA, what-if studies, and management of change.

• Background in toxic release and dispersion modeling, including consequence analysis and AEGL/ERPG criteria.

• Knowledge of PSM, Seveso, COMAH, OSHA, or their national equivalents.

• Excellent writing skills; all judgments must include a rationale that is comprehensible to non-specialists.

• Previous experience in technical writing, published research, or serving as an expert witness is highly regarded.

• Submission of a technical writing sample or link is required.

• Must refrain from utilizing classified or export-controlled information, NDA-protected information, or data subject to prepublication review obligations.

• Must disclose any such obligations to appropriately scope the work.
