Forward Deployed Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead technical discovery sessions with client stakeholders and convert institutional challenges into defined use cases on the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform.

• Conduct requirements-gathering meetings to establish technical scope, success criteria, and delivery timelines.

• Evaluate technical feasibility during the pre-sales phase.

• Develop and manage the delivery backlog for GCP/Gemini Enterprise Engineer, Data Engineer, and AgentOps Engineer initiatives.

• Prioritize backlog items based on client timelines, contractual obligations, and technical dependencies.

• Align client-facing technical commitments with internal delivery capabilities.

• Validate delivered solutions against acceptance criteria acting as the client-facing quality gate.

• Identify technical and data compliance requirements in higher education and SLED, including FERPA, state privacy regulations, and accessibility standards.

• Highlight data governance, security, and technical risks to the Engagement Manager.

• Ensure that solution designs meet institutional compliance requirements.

• Guide clients on feasible AI adoption strategies considering data readiness, system integration limitations, and technical staff capacity.

• Foster trust with client technical stakeholders as a peer advisor.

• Collaborate with GCP/Gemini Enterprise, Data, and AgentOps engineering teams.

• Work alongside the Engagement Manager on technical status, risks, and visibility of the backlog.

• Collaborate with the SLED Account Executive and GTM lead to develop repeatable offerings.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience in scoping and delivering GenAI/agentic AI solutions for enterprise or institutional clients.

• Direct experience with the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform is highly preferred; substantial GenAI delivery experience on AWS Bedrock or Azure AI Foundry will also be considered.

• Familiarity with cloud data, computing, and compliance concepts applicable in AI solution design, such as data warehousing, container/serverless computing, IAM, and network security controls.

• Google Cloud certification is preferred, such as Professional Cloud Architect or an equivalent technical certification.

• Experience in a client-facing technical role delivering AI/ML solutions directly to enterprise or institutional clients.

• Strong preference for candidates with experience in higher education or SLED domains.

• Ability to convert unclear client requirements into a well-structured, sequenced delivery backlog.

• Understanding of compliance and regulatory issues pertinent to education or public sector data, including FERPA, state privacy laws, and procurement requirements.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience in leading client discovery and requirements sessions.

• Ability to collaborate across functions with engineering teams.

• Comfort in operating within a paired delivery model alongside an Engagement Manager.

• Demonstrates sound judgment in ambiguous client scenarios.

• Establishes credibility with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Proactively identifies technical, compliance, and delivery risks.

• Balances client advocacy with delivery feasibility and team capability.

• Effectively communicates complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
