This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Zealand.
β’ Manage and resolve complex employee exits independently across various international jurisdictions.
β’ Provide guidance to clients on termination, resignation, transfer processes, employment contracts, and redundancy matters.
β’ Lead meetings with clients and external employees, including consultations on workforce reductions, administrative hearings, separation negotiations, settlements, and termination results.
β’ Influence and negotiate favorable outcomes in intricate terminations involving multiple stakeholders.
β’ Collaborate with payroll, legal counsel, government agencies, trade unions, and other parties on compliance and audits related to offboarding.
β’ Draft, customize, and manage termination and supplementary documents while ensuring accurate and confidential employee records are maintained.
β’ Process offboarding in Remoteβs internal HRIS and work together with Customer Success, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, and Time and Attendance teams.
β’ Act as an informal escalation point, offering expertise, mentoring, and support to junior team members.
β’ Deliver first-level guidance on Employee Relations and assist clients in navigating complex workplace issues.
β’ Conduct initial assessments of workplace concerns, identifying relevant facts, applicable regulations, and potential solutions.
β’ Monitor employee relations cases and ensure timely follow-up with appropriate stakeholders.
β’ Address internal and external inquiries regarding offboarding and first-level employee relations issues.
β’ Identify and promote process improvements, automation, product development, and enhancements to customer and employee experiences.
β’ Establish methods, procedures, and standards for new assignments using sound judgment and complex evaluation criteria.
β’ Report directly to the Manager of Employee Lifecycle, Employee Relations & Transitions.
β’ Experience as an HR Advisor or HR Business Partner, with a strong foundation in generalist HR competencies across the employee lifecycle.
β’ Proven track record of independently managing both voluntary and involuntary exits (terminations) with care, sensitivity, and legal compliance.
β’ Experience in providing comprehensive HR advice on employment laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
β’ Knowledge of employee relations principles, progressive discipline methods, and the fundamentals of workplace investigations.
β’ Ability to interpret and apply industrial instruments while analyzing complex HR issues.
β’ Capability to conduct independent research, translate findings into practical team resources, and offer effective solutions.
β’ Excellent communication, influencing, conflict management, and negotiation skills.
β’ Skill in independently leading challenging conversations toward positive outcomes while ensuring professionalism and strict confidentiality.
β’ Business-level (advanced) proficiency in written and spoken English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
β’ Aptitude for process innovation, optimization, automation, and promoting best practices.
β’ Strong operational efficiency, meticulous record-keeping, and awareness of data integrity.
β’ Tech-savvy with the ability to collaborate asynchronously using various tools and adapt to evolving systems.
β’ Capability to work autonomously and cohesively in a fast-paced, international, asynchronous, remote environment.
β’ Willingness to work flexible hours as necessary.
β’ Proactive, self-motivated, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
β’ Strong capabilities in automation and AI fluency.
β’ Tertiary qualifications in HR, labour relations, or employment law are considered an asset.
