Senior Employee Relations Specialist, APAC

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Take charge of managing and resolving intricate end-to-end employee exits across various international jurisdictions independently.

β€’ Provide expert advice to clients regarding termination, resignation, transfer, employment contracts, and redundancy processes.

β€’ Facilitate client and external employee meetings, including consultations on workforce reduction, administrative hearings, separation negotiations, settlements, and termination outcomes.

β€’ Negotiate and influence favorable outcomes in complex termination situations.

β€’ Collaborate with payroll, legal counsel, government entities, trade unions, and other relevant stakeholders.

β€’ Draft, customize, and manage termination and supplementary documents while ensuring the confidentiality of employee records.

β€’ Execute offboarding processes using Remote’s internal HRIS platform and coordinate with the Customer Success, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, and Time and Attendance teams.

β€’ Offer informal escalation support, mentoring, and guidance to junior team members.

β€’ Provide initial Employee Relations guidance and evaluate workplace concerns.

β€’ Identify relevant facts, applicable local regulations, and possible solutions for employee relations cases.

β€’ Advise clients on progressive discipline, documentation needs, and challenging workplace scenarios.

β€’ Monitor and track employee relations cases, ensuring timely follow-up.

β€’ Resolve offboarding and first-level employee relations inquiries as a subject-matter expert.

β€’ Propel process improvements, automation, product development, and enhancements in customer and employee experiences.

β€’ Establish methods, procedures, and standards for new assignments using independent judgment.

β€’ Report to the Manager of Employee Lifecycle, Employee Relations & Transitions, as part of the Lifecycle team.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ Experience as an HR Advisor or HR Business Partner, with a broad range of HR competencies and exposure throughout the employee lifecycle.

β€’ Tertiary qualifications in HR, labour relations, or employment law are considered advantageous.

β€’ Demonstrated experience in independently managing voluntary and involuntary exits (terminations) with sensitivity, care, and legal compliance.

β€’ Proven ability to provide thorough HR advice and guidance on employment laws and regulations across different jurisdictions.

β€’ Knowledge of employee relations principles, progressive discipline strategies, and basics of workplace investigations.

β€’ Capability to interpret and apply industrial instruments and analyze complex HR challenges.

β€’ Ability to independently research issues, develop useful team resources, provide practical solutions, and communicate recommendations effectively.

β€’ Exceptional communication, influencing, conflict management, and negotiation skills.

β€’ Advanced proficiency in written and spoken English at a business level.

β€’ Talent for process innovation, optimization, automation, and implementing best practices.

β€’ Efficiency in operations, meticulous record-keeping, and data integrity.

β€’ Tech-savvy; capable of collaborating asynchronously using various tools and adapting to changing systems.

β€’ Ability to operate autonomously and cohesively in a fast-paced, international, asynchronous, remote environment while managing competing priorities.

β€’ Willingness to work flexible hours as required.

β€’ Proactive, self-motivated, and accountable.

β€’ Demonstrates strong automation skills, fluency in AI, and capabilities in AI technologies.
