Senior Employee Relations Specialist – 6-month FTC

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Develop and integrate the foundational employee relations framework, which includes policies, manager playbooks, templates, and decision-making guides.

β€’ Examine people policies comprehensively, revise them, incorporate supporting resources and manager guidance, and communicate any updates.

β€’ Mentor and empower managers to engage in everyday discussions early, constructively, and with confidence.

β€’ Create and facilitate practical training sessions and workshops for managers covering feedback, wellbeing, absence, family leave, and supportive conversations.

β€’ Serve as an impartial and trusted advisor for both employees and managers.

β€’ Assist with a wide range of employee relations issues while ensuring care and confidentiality.

β€’ Introduce structure and consistency in documenting and addressing people matters.

β€’ Analyze themes and trends to mitigate recurring issues and enhance the employee experience.

β€’ Utilize AI tools for drafting, research, and policy-related tasks within confidentiality parameters.

β€’ Collaborate closely with the People team, managers, and senior leadership, managing employee relations from start to finish.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ Extensive, hands-on experience in employee relations, managing various people matters independently and comprehensively.

β€’ Strong practical knowledge of UK employment law and the ACAS Code.

β€’ Calm and human-centered approach to sensitive discussions, maintaining impartiality and credibility.

β€’ Exceptional writing skills, producing clear, fair, and well-structured documentation and communications.

β€’ Proven history of coaching managers and enhancing their confidence through playbooks, training, and immediate support.

β€’ Proficient in clear and human-centered policy writing.

β€’ Experience in building frameworks in a lean environment lacking an ER center of excellence or in-house legal team.

β€’ Ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous settings, including starting from a blank slate.

β€’ Sound judgment and impeccable management of confidential information.

β€’ Nice to have: experience in fintech, financial services, or high-growth scale-ups.

β€’ Nice to have: background in an FCA-regulated or similarly regulated environment.

β€’ Nice to have: familiarity with workflow tools, trackers, templates, and automation processes.

β€’ Nice to have: experience in applying AI for ER drafting, case summarization, or policy research.
