Senior Electronic Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.

📋 Description

• Design, engineer, integrate, modernize, and maintain Electronic Security Systems that support U.S. government missions.

• Act as a representative of Cambridge in providing electronic security system engineering products and solutions.

• Engineer and design ESS, which includes PACS/ACS, IDS, VSS/CCTV, command-and-control systems, along with the necessary data transmission and network infrastructure.

• Carry out ESS system integration.

• Conduct site surveys and system design assessments.

• Create and review engineering drawings and technical documentation.

• Choose equipment and formulate Bills of Materials.

• Supervise installation processes.

• Execute system testing, commissioning, and Government acceptance procedures.

• Assist in the modernization and sustainment of ESS.

• Implement DoD/Army physical security standards and cybersecurity/RMF protocols to ESS, OT, and facility-related systems.

• Manage multiple concurrent ESS projects in both CONUS and OCONUS locations.

• Travel to customer sites and program locations, including both CONUS and OCONUS, as necessary.

• Collaborate with team members, customers, and stakeholders through effective verbal and written communication.

• Primarily work from a home office or an approved remote work setting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in utilizing computers, engineering/design tools, and technologies pertinent to electronic security system engineering.

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering from an accredited institution.

• At least 10 years of experience in Electronic Security Systems.

• Familiarity with DoD/Army physical security standards.

• Knowledge of cybersecurity/RMF as it relates to ESS, OT, or facility-related systems.

• Proven experience in supporting system installation, testing, commissioning, Government acceptance, modernization, and sustainment initiatives.

• Experience in ESS integration, site surveys, engineering drawings, technical documentation, equipment selection, and Bill of Materials development.

• Understanding of PACS/ACS, IDS, VSS/CCTV, ESS command-and-control systems, and related network infrastructure.

• Extensive experience in Electronic Security Systems engineering and design.

• Current and active DoD Secret security clearance.

• U.S. citizenship is mandatory.

• Capability to complete a background investigation.

• Alcohol and drug screening may be necessary for compliance with federal contracts.

• Ability to prioritize competing tasks, work under deadlines, and maintain meticulous attention to detail.

• Strong communication skills to interact with team members, customers, and stakeholders both verbally and in writing.

• Willingness to work occasional extended hours, including evenings or weekends.

• Ability to travel between work sites, customer locations, and government facilities as needed.

• Capacity for prolonged sitting and extensive use of computers and engineering/design software.

• Preferred: U.S. Professional Engineer (PE) or Certified Protection Professional (CPP) certification.

• Preferred: Direct experience with ESS VII or Huntsville ESS-MCX.

• Preferred: Background with large federal ESS integrators or multi-site/global ESS programs.

• Preferred: Experience in supporting DoD electronic security integration projects.

• Preferred: Experience in supporting Army ESS or Army installation physical security initiatives.

• Preferred: Involvement with USACE ESS-MCX, Huntsville/CEHNC, ESS VII, ESS VI, or prior USACE ESS programs.
