Senior Electrical Power Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Oversee assigned power system study and design projects from start to finish, encompassing scope, schedule, budget, and communication with clients.

• Execute and verify arc flash, short circuit, and coordination studies.

• Supervise entry-level engineers and evaluate models, drawings, and reports.

• Lead field data gathering at industrial and commercial locations.

• Draft and assess equipment and installation specifications along with bid packages.

• Handle change orders, adjustments in scope, and requirements for client purchase orders.

• Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors while procuring vendor drawings and submittals.

• Offer support during the construction phase by responding to RFIs, reviewing submissions, and addressing field inquiries.

• Share findings and proposals with client maintenance, engineering, and EHS teams.

• Assist in proposal development by providing scoping insights and estimating levels of effort.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience managing electrical or power projects.

• Practical experience in industrial or commercial power systems.

• Proven project management skills in handling concurrent deadlines, client interactions, subcontractors, and ensuring deliverable quality.

• Familiarity with NEC, NFPA 70E, NFPA 70B, OSHA, IEEE, and ANSI standards.

• Comfortable working in industrial settings and engaging in client-facing site activities.

• Must be eligible to work in the U.S.

• Must be able to pass client background checks.

• Possession of a PE license or active progression towards obtaining a PE license is highly advantageous.

• Experience with ETAP, SKM Power*Tools, or EasyPower is beneficial.

• Bonus: experience in data centers or mission-critical facilities, including standby power, UPS, ATS, redundant distribution, and N+1/2N reliability-driven design.
