This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Design and execute electrical systems for hyper-scale data centers, encompassing medium- and low-voltage power distribution, backup power solutions, and emergency systems.
• Create and update electrical schematics, bills of materials, and installation drawings.
• Ensure adherence to NEC and IEC standards as well as other industry codes and regulations.
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders regarding specifications, design criteria, and project budgets.
• Evaluate electrical systems for load balancing, capacity planning, troubleshooting, and optimizing power consumption.
• Oversee and maintain electrical systems through preventative maintenance, testing, and repairs.
• Formulate and enforce electrical safety protocols and training programs.
• Assess advancements in electrical engineering and data center technologies, providing recommendations for enhancements.
• Serve as the electrical discipline lead, offering specialized technical insights, mentorship, and leadership.
• Approve and endorse work as the Engineer of Record.
• Deliver engineering budget and schedule estimates for large, complex projects.
• Cultivate technical client relationships and play a key role in sales efforts.
• Collaborate with global AECOM teams on high-profile data center initiatives.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering along with eight (8) years of pertinent electrical design and/or electrical engineering experience, particularly in data center infrastructure, or equivalent experience and/or education.
• A Professional Engineer License (P.E.) or Professional Engineer Designation (P. Eng) is mandatory.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering plus ten (10) years of relevant experience.
• Significant experience in electrical engineering for data centers or other critical facilities.
• Strong familiarity with NEC (NFPA70).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
• Capability to establish and maintain robust client relationships.
• Creative thinking skills with the ability to identify opportunities to enhance the client experience.
• Proficiency in building information modeling (BIM) software, especially ACC Cloud.
• Experience with data center design and construction, including design criteria and industry standards.
• Occasional travel may be necessary for client meetings, key project milestones, onsite collaboration sessions, or other critical business activities.
