Electrical Design Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Create and implement control systems for automation, semiconductor, and industrial process applications.

• Work alongside engineers and technicians to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.

• Perform arc flash studies to pinpoint potential hazards within electrical systems.

• Calculate incident energy levels at various locations within electrical systems.

• Define arc flash boundaries and categorize hazard risks.

• Establish safe working distances and procedures.

• Document findings and produce one-line diagrams.

• Maintain records related to arc flash studies and associated activities.

• Provide support during the installation of equipment and systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) or Power Study Software, including AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, or Microsoft Office.

• A degree in Electrical Engineering or another Engineering discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is highly preferred.

• A minimum of 2 years of industrial experience is preferred.

• Experience in Power and Controls is preferred.

• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, layouts, and grid plans for pump stations and compressor facilities.

• Willingness to learn how to create effective and safe electrical diagrams.

• Commitment to working safely and enthusiasm for contributing to a safety-oriented team.

• Industrial field experience and a strong understanding of industrial control systems are preferred.

• Experience in Semiconductor, Oil and Gas, Utilities, Agriculture, Metals, Mining, Paper, Data Centers, Health Care, or Food and Beverage industries is preferred.

• Must be adaptable and open to out-of-town work, including occasional overnight travel.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, stand for prolonged periods, and drive regularly, with or without reasonable accommodations.

• Should be capable of passing a fit-for-duty physical exam when necessary.

• Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug test and periodic, unannounced random drug tests.

• Must undergo a pre-employment criminal background check.

• Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record.

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employer-sponsored visa assistance.

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
