Senior Electrical Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the electrical engineering processes for projects associated with industrial facilities.

• Work alongside electrical designers and multidisciplinary teams from the initial design phase through to startup support.

• Execute medium- and low-voltage electrical engineering calculations and compile documentation packages.

• Create plans, sections, details, and other electrical design outputs in accordance with industry, client, and company standards.

• Implement relevant codes such as NFPA 70, 70E, 30, 58, and 497, NEMA, API 500 and 540, and IEEE.

• Manage project deliverables, timelines, and interdisciplinary requirements.

• Develop and verify one-line diagrams, conduit plans, grounding plans, area classification plans, control panel layouts, bills of materials, lighting plans, P&IDs, PLC and DCS wiring diagrams, and motor schematics.

• Liaise with clients and electrical utilities regarding new or upgraded service installations.

• Collaborate with mechanical, civil, process, and structural engineers to pinpoint design conflicts and efficiencies.

• Assist in business development and marketing initiatives, including proposal writing, scope definition, and budget management.

• Review contractor construction submittals and requests for information.

• Coordinate with equipment vendors to assess and approve specifications on behalf of clients.

• Pursue continuous improvement for both personal growth and departmental enhancement.

• Travel domestically within the United States 15% to 20% for site evaluations, design reviews, and construction support.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of experience managing projects for clients in the industrial sector, from inception to completion, including estimating, startup, and commissioning.

• Relevant experience in oil and gas, refineries, pulp and paper, or other industrial settings.

• Comfort in working within industrial facilities and around related equipment.

• A Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an ABET-accredited institution is mandatory.

• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.

• Significant experience with power system modeling software such as SKM, ETAP, or EasyPower.

• Proficient in performing voltage drop, cable tray fill, cable tray sizing, conduit sizing, and equipment sizing calculations.

• Familiarity with protection devices including power circuit breakers, MCCBs, fuses, and relay protection.

• Experience in estimating electrical engineering and construction costs for heavy industrial projects.

• Ability to thrive with minimal supervision and a strong eagerness to learn and expand knowledge and skills.

• A solid background that integrates project management and engineering expertise.

• Experience in mentoring junior engineers and providing technical support.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong presentation abilities.

• Proficient in using Bluebeam, MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
