Senior Electrical Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the electrical design and coordination of MEP projects in commercial, healthcare, and industrial sectors from initial concept to construction administration.

• Create comprehensive electrical construction documents that include medium- and low-voltage power distribution, lighting, grounding, low-voltage systems, and emergency power systems.

• Generate single-line diagrams, riser diagrams, and layouts for electrical rooms.

• Conduct electrical load calculations, short-circuit analysis, voltage drop calculations, arc flash studies, and equipment sizing.

• Design branch power, lighting, emergency power, and lighting control systems following relevant codes and standards.

• Coordinate electrical systems with mechanical, plumbing, structural, architectural, and civil disciplines.

• Perform site surveys, field investigations, and assessments of existing conditions.

• Offer technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and drafting/design personnel.

• Participate in client meetings, design coordination sessions, and construction progress discussions.

• Review contractor submittals, RFIs, change orders, and shop drawings for technical compliance.

• Provide construction administration support, including site observations, punch lists, and resolving issues.

• Create project specifications, basis of design narratives, and technical reports.

• Utilize engineering software such as Revit, AutoCAD, SKM, Visual Lighting, and others.

• Manage multiple projects while ensuring quality, schedule adherence, and budget objectives.

• Collaborate with both internal and external architects and engineers to guarantee successful project execution and client satisfaction.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.

• A Professional Engineer (PE) license is mandatory.

• Over 10 years of experience in electrical engineering design for MEP/building systems projects.

• In-depth knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IBC, IECC, IEEE standards, and relevant local codes.

• Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Familiarity with SKM and Visual Lighting is preferred.

• Understanding of construction documents and engineering design processes.

• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Experience in mentoring junior engineering staff and leading project teams is preferred.

• Valued experience in hospitals and healthcare facilities, military bases, government buildings and courthouses, research laboratories, central steam and chilled water plants, corrections facilities, and/or site utility infrastructure.

• Willingness to travel to client sites as necessary.
