This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
• Create electrical engineering solutions that facilitate utility-scale renewable energy projects through project execution or estimating.
• Direct the development of electrical designs, Basis of Design (BOD) documentation, engineering assessments, RFIs, and technical outputs during the project lifecycle.
• Evaluate electrical one-line diagrams, protection and control systems, grounding layouts, cable routing, equipment configurations, and third-party engineering submissions.
• Collaborate with Owners, Engineers of Record (EOR), Estimating, Project Engineering, Integrated Supply Chain, and Construction teams.
• Assist with utility interconnections, selection of electrical equipment, procurement strategies, and reviews of technical submissions.
• Conduct quantity takeoffs, constructability assessments, value engineering, and technical risk evaluations.
• Guide Engineer I, Engineer II, and CAD Designers.
• Oversee multiple simultaneous projects while ensuring engineering quality, adherence to schedules, and fulfillment of client expectations.
• Recognize opportunities for enhancing engineering standards, workflows, and design quality.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification is required, or the ability to obtain it within one year of hire.
• A minimum of four years of progressive electrical engineering experience in utility-scale power generation, renewable energy, industrial, EPC, or heavy infrastructure projects.
• Experience in managing multiple engineering priorities while working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Background in supporting utility-scale solar, wind, or battery energy storage (BESS) projects.
• Comprehensive understanding of underground collection systems, substations, transmission interconnections, protection and control systems, SCADA, power quality, load flow analysis, and electrical equipment sizing.
• Experience in Estimating Engineering, Project Engineering, or both.
• Proven experience working with Owners, Engineers of Record (EOR), utilities, EPC partners, and construction teams.
• Capability to mentor junior engineers and enhance engineering quality and project delivery.
