📋 Description

• Assist in shaping coverage strategy across various operating systems, consumer hardware/devices, and enthusiast DIY technology.

• Uphold standards for precision, authority, and clarity across all published materials.

• Oversee the editorial workflow from pitch evaluation and topic prioritization to assignment and publication.

• Provide leadership and support to freelance writers through constructive editorial feedback and guidance.

• Assess writer performance and output to ensure alignment with brand voice and best practices.

• Identify high-performing contributors, development opportunities, and writers ready for increased responsibility.

• Aid in the onboarding and training process for new contributors.

• Review and approve pitches, assign topics, manage deadlines, and conduct copy edits.

• Create original written content within core coverage areas as necessary.

• Maintain a well-balanced editorial calendar that aligns with audience preferences and business objectives.

• Stay updated with the latest technology and digital lifestyle trends.

• Track content performance and utilize insights to enhance editorial strategy.

• Offer guidance and feedback through regular check-ins and asynchronous communication.

• Collaborate with editorial leadership on larger initiatives and growth goals.

⛳️ Requirements

• Candidates must be located in the U.S. or Canada, or in countries within a few hours of the EST time zone.

• Proven experience in editing and writing consumer technology content.

• In-depth hands-on understanding of desktop builds, mobile/handheld devices, operating systems, and enthusiast maker hardware.

• Previous experience in leading or mentoring writers in a freelance setting.

• Ability to take ownership of editorial decisions and manage multiple priorities effectively.

• Strong editorial judgment, organizational skills, and attention to detail.

• Current CV.
