This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Act as Ratehub’s key expert on mortgages and real estate.
• Represent the brand during media engagements, providing expert insights, data points, and commentary.
• Engage in video content creation and participate in media interviews.
• Generate original content for media contributions, landing pages, blog posts, newsletters, videos, and social media platforms.
• Create timely analyses that reflect market conditions, rate changes, and consumer requirements.
• Collaborate with the mortgage brokerage team on rate trends, lender strategies, and market dynamics.
• Update and refresh existing content including blogs, FAQs, and landing pages.
• Implement SEO and GEO best practices, particularly for landing pages and high-traffic areas.
• Establish and maintain editorial voice, style guidelines, policies, workflows, and governance frameworks.
• Oversee the editorial and social media calendar.
• Review, edit, and approve content produced by writers, freelancers, and subject matter experts.
• Maintain expertise in Canadian personal finance to ensure editorial quality.
• Conduct content QA, including fact-checking, link audits, structural evaluations, and scheduled updates.
• Utilize organic traffic, keyword rankings, GEO metrics, engagement, and conversion data to prioritize editorial tasks.
• Onboard and manage freelance contributors.
• Collaborate with product, design, marketing, and data teams.
• Lead the production of sponsored content and coordinate between partnership and content teams.
• 6–10 years of editorial experience.
• Proven expertise in personal finance content; a focus on mortgages or real estate is highly preferred.
• Background in digital-first media, fintech, financial services, or high-volume content operations.
• Post-secondary education in journalism, communications, English, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Outstanding writing, editing, and storytelling abilities.
• Knowledge of Canadian mortgage products, rate structures, lending regulations, and real estate.
• Capability to manage a high volume of articles, landing pages, newsletters, social content, and video scripts.
• Strong grasp of Canadian AP or CP style and experience in maintaining in-house style guides.
• Familiarity with SEO, keyword research, on-page optimization, internal linking, and content structuring.
• Understanding of GEO and AI-powered search technologies.
• Experience with tools like Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Semrush, PEEC, or similar platforms.
• Ability to analyze content performance data.
• Experience mentoring content writers or strategists.
• Experience in briefing and managing freelance contributors.
• Cross-functional collaboration with marketing, product, and analytics teams.
• Strong project management capabilities.
• Experience as a brand spokesperson or subject matter expert in media contexts.
• Proficiency in CMS platforms, such as WordPress.
• Familiarity with project management tools like Asana or Notion.
• Experience with AI writing and editing tools and responsible editorial practices.
• Must have legal eligibility to work in Canada.
