This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Create, refine, and produce impactful content such as research reports, articles, newsletters, op-eds, annual reports, profiles, executive communications, and long-form features.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to convert intricate technical analyses into engaging and actionable narratives.
• Investigate, report, write, and edit original content focused on energy and the energy transition.
• Guarantee that content adheres to criteria for accuracy, clarity, accessibility, editorial quality, and relevance to the audience.
• Set and maintain editorial standards and best practices across various content formats and channels.
• Craft narrative approaches and editorial strategies for significant reports, campaigns, initiatives, and thought leadership projects.
• Provide guidance to colleagues and subject matter experts on message development, narrative framing, content organization, and storytelling.
• Transform technical research and policy insights into narratives centered around the audience.
• Recognize emerging trends, discussions, and storytelling opportunities within the energy, technology, finance, and policy sectors.
• Contribute to integrated content strategies that support communications, policy, market, and organizational goals.
• Generate content for policymakers, business leaders, technical experts, funders, journalists, and the general public.
• Leverage audience insights, engagement metrics, and content performance data to guide editorial decisions and enhance storytelling.
• Collaborate with digital, marketing, and analytics teams to expand audience reach and engagement.
• Ensure that digital content satisfies editorial, accessibility, usability, and SEO standards.
• Engage with communications, marketing, design, web, development, events, social media, and program teams.
• Work alongside external partners, freelancers, vendors, and consultants on content development and production.
• Assist with recurring content products, including newsletters and editorial series.
• Mentor and guide colleagues, communications professionals, and subject matter experts.
• Act as a reliable editorial advisor to program teams and communications partners.
• Share institutional knowledge and editorial best practices to enhance content quality throughout the organization.
• Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, English, public affairs, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Over 8 years of professional experience in journalism, editing, writing, communications, content strategy, publishing, or a related field.
• Outstanding writing, editing, reporting, and storytelling capabilities.
• Proven experience in translating complex technical, scientific, policy, or research-based content into engaging narratives.
• Background in developing thought leadership content and audience-centered communication strategies.
• Strong grasp of content strategy, audience engagement, and storytelling principles.
• Experience collaborating with subject matter experts and senior leaders to create high-quality communication products.
• Ability to utilize audience insights, engagement metrics, and content performance data for editorial decision-making.
• Excellent collaboration, stakeholder management, project management, and organizational abilities.
• Capability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong judgment, curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving skills.

• Preferred: Experience in climate, clean energy, sustainability, policy, climate finance, industry, mobility, buildings, electricity, or related sectors.

• Preferred: Familiarity with WordPress or other content management systems.
• Preferred: Experience with multimedia and digital storytelling formats, including video, audio, social media, photography, and interactive content.
