This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Develop, support, and execute strategies aimed at enhancing and ensuring compliance with Process Safety Management (PSM) across relevant locations.
• Assess the relevance of existing and upcoming regulations concerning PSM and ammonia refrigeration systems.
• Collaborate with plant personnel to oversee all facets of PSM and guarantee compliance.
• Coordinate with third-party PSM auditors; assist during audits and ensure precise reporting.
• Design, assess, and suggest improvements for processes and equipment to enhance safety and operational efficiency.
• Establish and uphold PSM auditing schedules, conduct Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) reviews, and manage Mechanical Integrity testing.
• Direct root cause analysis and execute preventive and corrective measures following any incidents or ammonia releases.
• Ensure that contractors involved with ammonia systems possess the necessary certifications and training.
• Create and maintain PSM-related KPIs to monitor progress and accountability.
• Lead PSM and ammonia refrigeration safety initiatives and provide training to relevant personnel.
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field, along with 8+ years of PSM management experience in a manufacturing setting; or a suitable combination of education and/or experience is required.
• A minimum of 2 years of proven experience in team management/development or project leadership is required.
• Prior experience with Anhydrous Ammonia Refrigeration is essential.
• Strong understanding of OSHA and EPA regulations, particularly those related to PSM.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) methodologies, such as HAZOP and What If.
• Ability to effectively communicate with all organizational levels and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to make joint decisions and address issues.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances, unforeseen challenges, and diverse job requirements.
• Proficiency in completing necessary forms in English; capability to read and write in English is needed.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment alongside others.

• Competence in anticipating and analyzing root causes.

• Capability to operate in both corporate and distribution-center settings, exposing oneself to wet/humid environments, extreme temperatures, moving mechanical components, fumes or airborne particles, chemicals, and potential loud noises.
