This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee the formulation and implementation of the Scientific Communications strategy that aligns with Medical Affairs, clinical development, and corporate goals.
• Create and uphold the scientific narrative and communication framework for Latigo's pain portfolio.
• Direct the planning and execution of publications, including manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and oral presentations.
• Design and implement the strategy for scientific congresses.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to pinpoint publication opportunities, evidence gaps, and requirements for data dissemination.
• Spearhead the creation of scientific materials, such as scientific platforms, core medical decks, FAQs, field medical resources, dossiers, and other medical content.
• Ensure that scientific communications are precise, consistent, balanced, and compliant with regulations.
• Collaborate with authors, investigators, and thought leaders to facilitate scientific publications.
• Oversee external medical writing, publication, and scientific communications agencies, managing timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
• Aid in pre-launch and launch readiness through scientific communications, training materials, and foundational medical content.
• Provide leadership in scientific communications across cross-functional teams and contribute to the enhancement of Medical Affairs capabilities.
• Report directly to the Vice President of Medical Affairs.
• PhD, PharmD, MD, or another advanced scientific/healthcare degree is preferred.
• Over 8 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sector.
• Extensive background in Scientific Communications, Publications, or Medical Affairs.
• Proven experience in developing and executing global publication and scientific communications strategies.
• Experience in supporting late-stage development, pre-launch, and/or launch is highly preferred.
• A strong record of developing manuscripts, abstracts, congress presentations, scientific platforms, and medical materials.
• Experience working with external authors, opinion leaders, publication agencies, and medical writing collaborators.
• Scientific knowledge in pain, neuroscience, or a related therapeutic area is desirable.
• A solid understanding of publication standards and good publication practices.
• Outstanding scientific writing, communication, project management, and cross-functional leadership abilities.
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial biotech environment.
• Flexible remote work arrangement.
• Opportunities for travel to internal meetings, scientific congresses, and external scientific engagements (approximately 20–30%).
