This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Design and implement bilingual awareness campaigns in English and French targeting individuals affected by bladder cancer.
• Broaden brand exposure across various channels by collaborating with stakeholders and influencers, enhancing social media presence, and increasing newsletter subscriptions.
• Maintain a consistent brand voice, visual identity, and ensure accurate bilingual communication.
• Coordinate, mentor, and provide editorial guidance to two direct reports and numerous volunteers.
• Create and polish social media content, national announcements, media releases, executive briefing notes, and essential messaging documents.
• Oversee bilingual translation processes across all public communication platforms.
• Manage external vendors and freelancers involved in producing and distributing educational materials.
• Develop and sustain a centralized communications calendar across multiple platforms.
• Direct website strategy, design layout, and ongoing content management, ensuring bilingual accuracy, accessibility, and SEO optimization.
• Monitor, analyze, and report on communication performance metrics, including web traffic, email engagement, and digital outreach effectiveness.
• Travel nationally about twice a year to host and facilitate educational events, conferences, and stakeholder meetings.
• Assist with the technical setup and coordination of seminars, webinars, digital town halls, live support group meetings, and hybrid events.
• Provide occasional support for events and virtual support groups during evenings and weekends.
• Previous experience in corporate communications, public relations, digital strategy, or non-profit communications is essential.
• Strong preference for candidates with experience in managing project teams and mentoring junior staff.
• Native or professional fluency in both written and spoken English and French is required.
• A degree or diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience is necessary.
• Advanced skills with CMS platforms like WordPress are required.
• Proficiency in email marketing platforms such as Constant Contact and Mailchimp is essential.
• Familiarity with virtual event tools including Zoom and Microsoft Teams is necessary.
• Competence in video and graphic design using Adobe Creative Suite or Canva is important.
• Knowledge of analytics platforms and CRM systems is preferred.
• A warm and empathetic communication style suitable for community and patient support settings is required.
• Strong leadership abilities and effective time management skills are essential.
• A reliable home office setup is expected.
• Willingness and ability to travel nationally across Canada for in-person events is required.
• Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
• A police background check is a mandatory condition of employment.
