Senior Director, Royalty and Product Finance Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Lead and develop the team responsible for issuing timely and precise contributor/author payments while maintaining and updating royalty models.

• Create and enhance new processes by comprehending Cengage’s operations, systems/tools, personnel, and strategic direction.

• Define, structure, and execute improvement initiatives through work plans, data collection and synthesis, analysis, and recommendations.

• Present findings to executive-level leaders.

• Conduct critical analyses and special projects to address contributor issues.

• Coordinate all aspects of data setups across Cengage content data systems, including royalty system IPM Fadel, PIM, SAP, and Fedel.

• Collaborate with business managers, finance leaders, and operations leaders to provide timely and accurate reporting.

• Act as the business owner of Cengage’s royalty system.

• Authorize royalty payments and provide audit documentation and support.

• Oversee material master/product data throughout its lifecycle.

• Manage metadata feeds to external sites and product marketing forms sent to resellers.

• Mitigate legal and financial risks, lower expenses, enhance workflows, and promote scalable solutions.


⛳️ Requirements

• A four-year college degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field is required.

• 7+ years of professional experience, including corporate, team, and program leadership.

• Experience in a professional services organization (consulting, private equity, investment banking) and/or in a cross-functional leadership role.

• 3+ years of experience in people management and development.

• Preferred experience with SAP, PIM, and Vistex.

• Must excel in a matrix environment across multiple groups and levels.

• Self-starter, analytical, and committed to delivering results; capable of prioritizing across multiple projects.

• Proven success in data analysis, managing multi-disciplinary partners, and driving complex projects from conception to execution.

• Collaborative and proactive in problem-solving to inspire change through influence.

• Strong writing and verbal communication skills; capable of simplifying complex analyses for senior audiences.
