Senior Director, Project Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Drive the overall management and strategic direction of the Project Management team within a specific therapeutic area.

• Ensure the successful execution of assigned projects.

• Recruit, train, mentor, and conduct performance evaluations for team members.

• Assist in strategizing and acquiring new business opportunities in collaboration with business and senior management.

• Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with clients and sponsors.

• Supervise the financial performance of departmental projects and evaluate the financial progress of assigned initiatives.

• Oversee the creation, execution, and compliance with project plans and performance metrics.

• Conduct budget assessments and provide financial analysis support.

• Evaluate and approve strategies, content, and costs associated with new business proposals.

• Identify resource requirements for upcoming projects.

• Achieve resource management and utilization objectives.

• Potentially lead sub-therapeutic groups while overseeing their management and financial results.

• Conduct reviews of projects and sponsor relationships to ensure compliance with procedures, timelines, budgets, and sponsor satisfaction.

• Facilitate the resolution of issues related to sponsor relationships.

• Present organizational capabilities and participate in bid presentations.

• Ensure that project deliverables align with sponsor and Worldwide Clinical Trials expectations.

• Engage in company initiatives as assigned by VPPM.

• Perform additional duties as directed by management.

⛳️ Requirements

• A university or college degree (preferably in life sciences) or certification in a related allied health profession from a recognized institution, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• A minimum of twelve (12) years of experience in the global clinical pharmaceutical industry.

• At least 8 years of demonstrated expertise in clinical project management tasks and staff management.

• Capability to lead and manage staff in a global setting.

• Ability to foster effective teamwork and motivate personnel within a matrix structure.

• Experience in managing global drug development programs.

• Proficient in negotiating with clients in a professional manner.

• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, including overnight stays.

• Possession of a valid passport.

• Ability to drive and hold a valid driver's license.

• Fluency in the local office language and English, both written and verbal.

• Comprehensive understanding of drug development processes and client requirements.
