Senior Director, Product – Threat Intelligence & Detections

📋 Description

• Develop and advocate for the commercial strategy and product roadmap concerning threat intelligence and threat hunting.

• Implement platform strategies to enhance detection effectiveness and efficiency against emerging threats.

• Collaborate with Architecture, Engineering, Security Research, and various cross-functional teams to ensure product vision aligns with company objectives.

• Spearhead strategic planning initiatives, fostering innovation and achieving results in threat intelligence, threat hunting, and detection engineering.

• Lead projects that translate strategy into execution, commission research, define OKRs, and ensure alignment across product lines and stakeholders.

• Present vision and alignment with corporate strategy during stakeholder meetings.

• Articulate strategy and high-level roadmaps for threat intelligence, detections, and AI-related initiatives to leadership, product management, and engineering teams.

• Engage in cross-functional efforts and co-design to utilize existing security research capabilities while avoiding redundant development.

• Collaborate with Architecture and Security Research leadership to determine when new capabilities should be developed into products or platforms.

• Create presentations and documents that outline vision and strategy addressing cybersecurity challenges, emerging threat landscapes, and AI-driven solutions.

• Oversee the development of innovative threat detection capabilities to enhance MDR, EDR, and SOC performance.

• Direct cross-functional product development teams, encouraging experimentation, rapid iteration, threat validation, and customer-focused innovation.

• Partner with executive leadership on long-term business objectives, resource distribution, and portfolio management.

• Conduct cross-functional backlog reviews and engage in product line evaluations.

• Identify follow-up analysis and insights related to emerging threat patterns and their implications for product strategy.

• Communicate changes in processes and prioritize threat detection innovations.

• Align threat intelligence, detection, and AI strategies with company direction and translate them into actionable initiatives.

• Disseminate priorities and major initiatives to product principals and technical leaders.

• Assist product teams in understanding how threat intelligence, detections, and AI capabilities facilitate quicker threat responses.

• Identify projects that may shift priorities and communicate with stakeholders in threat intelligence, security operations, and engineering.

• Align Security Research, Engineering, Sales, and Go-to-Market teams on product strategies and roadmaps.

• Foster organizational buy-in and support to enhance threat intelligence and detection efficacy and efficiency.

• Prepare documentation for calibration efforts and conduct evidence-based portfolio reviews.

• Mentor colleagues, influence organizational structure, and represent the group with transparency and integrity.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, showcasing in-depth knowledge in threat intelligence, threat hunting, detection engineering, incident response, or security research.

• More than 10 years of product management experience.

• At least 3 years in a director-level position or equivalent, managing complex, cross-functional teams that deliver enterprise security products at scale.

• Proven success in guiding products from strategy to successful market launch, demonstrating quantifiable results in revenue growth, customer adoption, or market share expansion.

• Executive presence with the capability to communicate effectively about cybersecurity strategy, emerging threats, and security innovation to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Extensive knowledge in threat intelligence, threat hunting, detection engineering, and security research practices and their application in product development.

• Demonstrated understanding of conversational AI, large language models (LLMs), and machine learning applications within cybersecurity and threat intelligence and/or detections is advantageous.

• Preferred background in Threat Intelligence, managed security services (MSS), managed detection and response (MDR), or security operations centers (SOCs).

• Experience in a fast-growing cybersecurity company or security labs/innovation division focused on emerging threats or technologies is desired.

• Active involvement and networking within the cybersecurity community, threat intelligence organizations, security research ecosystem, or industry consortiums is a plus.

• Capability to meet background-check requirements.

• Authorization to access software or technology governed by applicable U.S. export control laws and regulations, if necessary.
