Senior Director, BSS Transformation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Define and take ownership of the BSS transformation roadmap that aligns with Vonage's goals for commercial, operational, and customer experience enhancement.

• Convert business requirements across lead-to-cash, billing, rating, identity, account management, data, and platform services into well-defined priorities and design principles.

• Challenge traditional working methods and strive for a more streamlined, scalable, and better-integrated future-state BSS environment.

• Establish and oversee transformation governance, controls, and decision-making frameworks.

• Maintain collaboration with operational teams regarding migration, adoption, and change impacts while distinguishing transformation efforts from business-as-usual (BAU).

• Collaborate with the Sr. Director of BSS to manage legacy scope and avoid the addition of new functionalities to legacy systems.

• Manage the transformation budget, including forecasting, tracking expenditures, and ensuring alignment of investments.

• Oversee the identification of risks, planning for mitigation, and escalation across various workstreams.

• Work in partnership with Product, Engineering, Architecture, Operations, Finance, Sales, and Commercial teams to synchronize scope, sequencing, dependencies, and delivery outcomes.

• Serve as the senior business and product representative for the transformation initiative.

• Lead vendor assessments, including RFPs/RFIs, evaluation criteria, response coordination, and structured selection processes.

• Validate vendor capabilities, integration feasibility, and technical compatibility prior to committing to platform solutions.

• Identify, document, and implement end-to-end process changes that support future-state BSS functionalities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in leading large-scale BSS, OSS, lead-to-cash, billing, rating, CRM, identity, or platform-services transformation programs.

• Proven ability to shape strategies, establish governance frameworks, align senior stakeholders, and convert vague requirements into clear priorities.

• Practical experience in comprehensive business process transformation and re-engineering across various stakeholder groups, including change management and ownership adoption.

• Strong knowledge of enterprise SaaS and back-office systems, including CRM, billing, rating, analytics, identity, APIs, and integration architectures.

• Demonstrated capability to navigate trade-offs among scope, sequencing, investment, risk, technical debt, and business value.

• Credible presence with senior technical, product, commercial, and operational stakeholders; skilled at influencing without direct line authority.

• Background in telecommunications, CPaaS, UCaaS, SaaS, or other high-volume transactional technology settings.

• Experience in systems migration, platform consolidation, acquisition integration, or business process re-engineering.

• Familiarity with scaled agile methodologies, product operating models, transformation governance, data models, APIs, and integration patterns.
