This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Develop and implement CareDx’s biopharma partnership strategy focused on transplant and oncology diagnostics.
• Identify and rank biopharma partners based on market data, drug pipelines, clinical trials, biomarkers, and strategic insights.
• Create strategic account plans and cultivate relationships with senior executives in the pharmaceutical sector.
• Represent CareDx at industry events, scientific gatherings, and executive forums.
• Build and oversee a portfolio and pipeline of strategic partnership prospects.
• Guide opportunities from initial identification through scientific qualification, solution crafting, proposal preparation, pricing, negotiations, contracting, and finalization.
• Structure partnerships and formulate strategic and financial business justifications.
• Direct negotiations and contract strategies for confidentiality agreements, service contracts, data partnerships, clinical-development initiatives, and strategic collaborations.
• Meet partnership, booking, revenue, and growth targets.
• Expand and enhance the Pharma Partnerships organization, including organizational design, talent acquisition, capability enhancement, and operational processes.
• Establish operating models, governance structures, performance metrics, and systems for portfolio and pipeline management.
• Collaborate with R&D, Medical Affairs, Laboratory Operations, Bioinformatics, Regulatory, Legal, Finance, and Commercial teams.
• Act as an executive sponsor for key pharmaceutical relationships and enhance collaborations.
• Work with Alliance Management on project execution, governance, and delivery.
• Mentor and develop team members.
• Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, business, healthcare, or a related discipline.
• An advanced degree such as an MBA, MS, PhD, PharmD, or MD is preferred.
• Over 15 years of experience in biopharma partnerships, business development, strategic accounts, alliance management, molecular diagnostics, precision medicine, or a related area.
• Proven track record in developing, negotiating, and finalizing complex partnerships with pharmaceutical or biotechnology firms.
• Experience in leading opportunities through scientific evaluations, proposal crafting, financial assessments, negotiations, contracting, implementation, and cross-functional change management.
• Established ability to build networks of influence and foster trusted relationships with senior pharmaceutical executives.
• Experience in creating governance processes, operational frameworks, and alliance structures.
• Strong grasp of diagnostics and biomarkers in the context of translational research, clinical development, and commercialization.
• Capability to synthesize intricate scientific, technical, operational, and financial data into compelling partner value propositions and strategic business cases.
• Exceptional executive communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship management capabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to align leaders, spearhead cross-functional change initiatives, and exert influence within a matrixed organization.
• Capacity to manage multiple complex opportunities and partner relations concurrently.
• Existing connections within transplant and oncology pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors.
• Willingness to travel approximately 25–40%.
