
Senior Director, Patient Advocacy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Lead and build the patient advocacy and engagement function for the company, encompassing strategy, operational model, governance, and frameworks for external engagement.
β’ Develop and maintain relationships with patient advocacy organizations, professional societies, caregivers, patient leaders, and communities affected by rare diseases.
β’ Create processes to gather, analyze, and incorporate patient insights into research, clinical development, regulatory activities, communications, and planning for future commercialization.
β’ Design and implement initiatives for disease awareness, patient education, and community engagement.
β’ Ensure the patient perspective is integrated into decision-making processes across Centessa and its parent organization.
β’ Promote collaboration across departments including Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Regulatory, Communications, Commercial, Market Access, and stakeholders from the parent company.
β’ Identify opportunities for advocacy, policy development, and market transformation.
β’ Develop metrics, KPIs, and reporting systems to evaluate the impact of advocacy efforts and the effectiveness of the organization.
β’ Oversee budgets, grants, and partnerships related to advocacy while ensuring adherence to industry standards and company policies.
β’ A bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred (e.g., MPH, MHA, PharmD, PhD, or MD).
β’ A minimum of 10 years of experience in patient advocacy, patient engagement, or relevant roles within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical sectors.
β’ Proven track record in building, launching, or significantly enhancing patient advocacy capabilities, programs, or functions.
β’ Ability to influence executive leadership and foster alignment among cross-functional teams in dynamic and uncertain environments.
β’ Experience in developing patient education programs, disease awareness campaigns, and communications aimed at patients.
β’ Experience in establishing governance structures, operational frameworks, and performance metrics with quantifiable outcomes.
β’ Understanding of compliance requirements related to advocacy engagement, grants, and activities aimed at patients.
β’ Preferred experience in rare diseases, neurology, or CNS within pre-commercial organizations.
β’ Willingness to travel occasionally.
