Senior Director, Dedicated Infrastructure – Platforms

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Oversee the engineering division responsible for GitLab Dedicated, GitLab's premium single-tenant SaaS solution tailored for enterprise customers in regulated industries and the public sector.

• Take charge of the strategy and roadmap for GitLab Dedicated, ensuring scalability of the platform in line with customer growth while aligning with GitLab's cellular architecture.

• Collaborate with Product and executive leadership on objectives related to growth, platform reliability, customer onboarding, cost efficiency in infrastructure, and self-service management.

• Lead teams tasked with tenant orchestration and integrations, resilience and incident response, the Switchboard control plane, compliance for public-sector platforms, and tools for enterprise migrations and imports.

• Deliver GitLab Dedicated for Government, which encompasses AWS GovCloud infrastructure, FedRAMP operations and audit preparation, air-gapped isolation, and features specific to the public sector.

• Ensure that enterprise migrations are predictable, repeatable, and minimally disruptive through self-service tools and guided workflows.

• Recruit, mentor, and expand engineering managers across distributed teams while integrating AI-enhanced workflows.

• Collaborate with Product, Security, and Customer Support to align customer commitments with architecture and investment strategies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in leading engineering organizations that manage enterprise single- or multi-tenant SaaS infrastructures and cloud platforms at scale.

• Demonstrated success in enhancing production reliability, minimizing toil, or reducing infrastructure costs on platforms under your ownership.

• Extensive knowledge of cloud-native and cellular architectures, Infrastructure as Code, and modular services that can deploy and scale independently across various cloud environments.

• Experience in delivering and managing enterprise offerings in compliance with stringent regulations such as FedRAMP and AWS GovCloud.

• Background in initiating organizational changes, including the adoption of AI-enabled workflows that enhance engineering system efficiency.

• Capability to convert financial objectives into engineering investments, headcount planning, and actionable roadmaps.
