
Senior Director, Business Development – R&D Solutions

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Lead the R&D Business Development team in driving new business initiatives, enhancing current accounts, and nurturing strategic client relationships.
• Supervise, mentor, and cultivate Business Development Directors within the R&D business unit.
• Position and promote Red Nucleus’s comprehensive range of R&D solutions that support clinical and regulatory programs.
• Identify, assess, and secure high-value opportunities utilizing a consultative, needs-driven sales methodology.
• Broaden existing accounts by identifying capability gaps and initiating multi-capability pursuits.
• Foster large, strategic, multi-year client relationships and enterprise partnership frameworks.
• Develop unique client solutions leveraging expertise in clinical and regulatory programs.
• Collaborate with R&D Consulting leaders and clinical and regulatory specialists to create integrated solutions.
• Contribute to the overall go-to-market strategy at the enterprise level and promote enterprise selling behaviors.
• Work in tandem with Marketing, Client Services, Sales Operations, and Business Unit leadership.
• Maintain disciplined management of the Salesforce pipeline and ensure accurate forecasting.
• Lead pricing strategies, scope definitions, and negotiations to achieve profitable engagements.
• Ensure a smooth transition from sale to delivery alongside effective client onboarding.
• Track performance metrics, conversion rates, and identify opportunities for commercial optimization.
• Represent Red Nucleus at industry events, conferences, and client meetings.
• Reinforce accountability, transparency, and a culture of performance excellence throughout the R&D commercial organization.
• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• A minimum of 10 years of demonstrable experience in business development or commercial roles selling Research & Development, or clinical and regulatory consultative services to pharmaceutical and biotechnology firms.
• Proven history of consistently meeting or exceeding annual revenue targets in the $3M+ range.
• Established capability to secure complex, multi-million-dollar, multi-stakeholder pursuits.
• An advanced degree in Business, Life Sciences, or a related field is strongly preferred.
