This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +3 more states.
• Oversee a well-established sales team consisting of Sales Managers and Account Executives.
• Strategically enhance sales of energy efficiency, renewable energy, and cutting-edge technology solutions across various market sectors.
• Lead and manage the business development team to create business and project opportunities, boost sales, ensure timely and cost-effective service delivery, and meet regional objectives.
• Attain annual sales targets for bookings, awards, and proposals.
• Create and implement marketing and sales strategies to identify, target, qualify, and secure clients for Ameresco solutions.
• Develop business development forecasts, plans, and initiatives to expand company visibility and customer base.
• Supervise Sales Managers and Account Executives within the designated geography.
• Create, manage, and execute individual and regional sales pipelines.
• Act as an executive in key client engagements.
• Oversee the preparation, strategic positioning, and delivery of successful proposals and presentations.
• Evaluate project submissions for quality assurance, technical precision, competitiveness, and customer-focused solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering, project management, and operations teams to fulfill regional business objectives and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Direct the planning and management of procurement, contract administration, construction, and commissioning resources.
• Organize, budget, monitor, and manage organizational and team resources.
• Develop strategies to enhance project development and construction activities.
• Ensure adherence to company, industry, and regulatory safety standards and protocols.
• Foster positive and effective business relationships.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in sustainability, engineering, economics, finance, or business.
• Advanced education such as an MS or MBA is preferred.
• A minimum of 12 years of demonstrated regional sales and business development leadership experience.
• Experience in cultivating, securing, and implementing multi-million-dollar energy efficiency and renewable technology projects.
• Approximately 50% travel is required.
• Exceptional financial planning, budgeting, and organizational resource management skills.
• Proven experience in business development within the Eastern U.S. region.
• Demonstrated sales success with executive business decision-makers, C-level sales, advanced negotiation, deal structuring, and sales contract experience.
• Ability to analyze and pre-qualify customer value effectively.
• Excellent verbal, written, technical, and computer communication skills, along with strong presentation abilities.
• Capability to manage multiple priorities and business relationships effectively.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience with Salesforce/CRM is required.
• Familiarity with energy analysis software is desirable.
• A valid driver's license in good standing issued by the state of residence.
