Senior Director, Analyst – Software Engineering for AI and Agentic Applications

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Develop innovative and thought-provoking content that delivers essential insights.

• Create new insights and practical strategies that respond to client needs and inquiries.

• Conduct thorough analyses to uncover the root causes of client challenges and requirements.

• Establish insight positions among a team of analysts.

• Provide independent insights to Gartner leaders to shape research agendas.

• Research, analyze, and forecast market trends and shifts.

• Offer actionable guidance to clients and prospects through both virtual and in-person interactions.

• Create and present materials at Gartner events, industry conferences, and client briefings.

• Support BTI and Sales by representing market perspectives and enhancing client engagement.

• Conduct timely, high-quality peer reviews of content.

• Build credibility as an industry expert by representing Gartner's insights, methodologies, and strategies.

• Engage in innovation, ideation, and research discussions.

• Identify areas for improvement in research processes and develop new service delivery methods.

• Mentor and coach junior team members.

• Facilitate regular client interactions with Gartner insights.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; a graduate degree is preferred.

• Over 12 years of relevant experience in the field or industry.

• Experience in leading teams to design, develop, and deploy AI-native applications, including those powered by large language models (LLMs) and AI agent architectures.

• Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with agentic AI frameworks, orchestration platforms, model providers, and new patterns for creating autonomous and semi-autonomous AI systems.

• Practical expertise in AI application architectures, including model integration, context management, harnesses, evaluation frameworks, observability, and management of applications in production.

• Familiarity with leading vendors and platforms in the AI application and agentic AI development ecosystem, including their benefits, limitations, risks, and suitable use cases.

• Strong executive presence and the ability to establish credibility with executives and stakeholders.

• Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to work under tight deadlines and produce high-quality deliverables.

• Proficiency in research and writing.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with analytical and presentation abilities.

• Capability to engage clients and effectively respond to inquiries.

• Skilled in analyzing and synthesizing data while applying critical thinking.

• Strong communication skills to convey complex concepts simply and clearly.

• Proven track record of presenting at both large and small-scale events.

• Robust business and financial acumen.

• In-depth understanding of the global and competitive landscape within the relevant subject area.

• Ability to work independently and collaborate across multicultural teams globally.

• Aptitude for effectively representing Gartner's research methodologies and strategies at all levels.

• Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% when necessary.

• Fluency in written and spoken English is required for daily communication with clients and colleagues in other regions and the United States.
