This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Define and spearhead Amgen’s strategy for enterprise AI solution architecture.
• Convert intricate business requirements into scalable AI products, platforms, and capabilities.
• Collaborate with stakeholders from R&D, Operations, Commercial, and corporate functions to co-create AI solutions.
• Outline large-scale AI initiatives and break down ambiguous opportunities into actionable solution pathways.
• Create solution blueprints that align business goals, user needs, AI/ML methodologies, data, platforms, integrations, governance, and ROI.
• Evaluate technical feasibility, potential value, complexity, data readiness, operating models, and adoption strategies.
• Collaborate with engineering, data, platform, architecture, product, security, privacy, legal, compliance, and domain teams.
• Establish reusable standards and frameworks for AI solution intake, prioritization, decomposition, value assessment, architecture review, and delivery readiness.
• Build, lead, and enhance the AI solution architecture function.
• Set standards and endorse architectural approaches, frameworks, trade-offs, and delivery pathways.
• Advise on build-versus-buy recommendations, vendor assessments, platform alignment, and integration choices.
• Represent AI Solution Architecture in executive forums and governance discussions.
• Structure, recruit, develop, and manage the performance of the AI solution architecture team.
• Generate solution blueprints, reusable patterns, executive decision-making materials, and measurable value realization across AI initiatives.
• Doctorate degree and 4 years of experience in AI, machine learning, data science, computer science, engineering, product, technology strategy, or a related field; or Master’s degree and 6 years of such experience; or Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of such experience.
• A minimum of 4 years of direct managerial experience, including managing managers or senior technical leaders.
• Over 12 years of experience in AI/ML, data science, enterprise architecture, product management, technology strategy, or related leadership roles is preferred.
• Demonstrated success in designing, scaling, or leading enterprise AI products, platforms, or solutions that deliver measurable business impact and ROI is preferred.
• Strong technical knowledge of contemporary AI/ML methods, generative AI, applied machine learning, data platforms, APIs, cloud architecture, MLOps, and production AI systems is preferred.
• Capability to translate ambiguous business challenges into AI solution architectures, execution plans, value propositions, and adoption pathways.
• Experience in breaking down large-scale, cross-functional AI initiatives into workstreams, milestones, architectural decisions, and operational model requirements.
• Strong business acumen linking AI capabilities to product outcomes, operational performance, financial effects, and enterprise strategy.
• Experience in the biotech, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or regulated industries is preferred.
• Knowledge of responsible AI, privacy, security, regulatory, and model-risk considerations is preferred.
