This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.
• Develop and implement the strategy and roadmap for the AI platform in alignment with CRG Digital and AI priorities.
• Position the AI platform as a shared capability layer that supports AI-enabled products and workflows.
• Ensure coherence with enterprise architecture, data platform, and security strategies.
• Oversee the design and development of the AI platform architecture, which includes model development, training, deployment, MLOps, LLMOps, model serving, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
• Integrate the platform with data solutions such as Snowflake and Databricks.
• Support GenAI, agentic workflows, and conventional ML use cases.
• Construct and enhance reusable AI components, model libraries, prompt frameworks, orchestration tools, workflow automation, and agent frameworks.
• Facilitate self-service tools and developer enablement to speed up development and minimize redundancy.
• Establish practices for AI lifecycle management, including versioning, validation, deployment, monitoring, performance tracking, and drift detection.
• Incorporate compliance, security, responsible AI, auditability, traceability, and regulatory standards into the platform.
• Enable federated AI execution through centralized standards, tools, frameworks, and guidelines.
• Collaborate with Applied AI, Data Platforms, and Digital Engineering on solution design, data readiness, product integration, and delivery.
• Manage relationships with technology vendors and platform partners while assessing emerging AI technologies.
• Optimize decisions regarding build versus buy versus partner options.
• Lead a high-performing team of AI platform engineers, MLOps specialists, and platform architects.
• Define skills, roles, and career paths while developing capabilities in AI engineering, platform operations, and emerging AI technologies.
• Promote adoption, reuse, deployment velocity, reliability, scalability, cost efficiency, governance, and overall organizational performance.
• A Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, AI/ML, or a related field is required.
• An advanced degree is preferred.
• 12 years of experience in software engineering, data platforms, AI/ML engineering, or platform leadership roles.
• Demonstrated success in building and scaling AI/ML platforms or data platforms within enterprise settings.
• Strong grasp of AI/ML and GenAI technologies.
• Familiarity with MLOps and LLMOps practices.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms and contemporary data architectures.
• Experience in intricate, matrixed organizations with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Prior experience in regulated healthcare or life sciences environments is preferred.
• Comprehensive technical and strategic knowledge of AI platform architecture and operations.
• Strong systems thinking ability to balance innovation, scalability, and governance.
• Capability to translate platform capabilities into business and product impact.
• Excellent leadership and team-building skills.
• Outstanding stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence Product, Data, AI, and Engineering teams.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving technology environment.
• Proficient in communicating, receiving, and comprehending information and ideas with diverse groups.
• Ability to work upright and stationary for typical working hours.
• Proficient in using and learning standard office equipment and technology.
• Capable of performing successfully under pressure while managing multiple projects.
