This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Collaborate closely with individual product teams to enhance product management practices and accelerate the adoption of Amgen’s Digital Product Operating Model.
• Act as a hands-on player-coach for Digital Product Managers and members of cross-functional teams.
• Guide DPMs on defining problems, conducting discovery, formulating product strategies, developing outcome-based roadmaps, establishing OKRs, KPIs, prioritization, stakeholder alignment, and measuring value.
• Temporarily undertake product management duties when no DPM is assigned, which includes shaping product direction, aligning stakeholders, defining outcomes, and supporting roadmap and prioritization processes.
• Assist teams in transitioning from stakeholder-request and feature-driven delivery to empowered, outcome-focused product management.
• Collaborate with business, technology, product, analytics, design, data, engineering, and other stakeholders to enhance product methodologies.
• Clarify roles, decision-making rights, operational rhythms, success metrics, and expectations within DPOM.
• Identify gaps in capabilities, barriers to adoption, and recurring anti-patterns.
• Facilitate discovery, validation, experience assessment, and learning methodologies.
• Incorporate technical feasibility, data and measurement prerequisites, dependencies, and AI opportunities and risks into product decision-making.
• Implement Catalyst engagements, which include assessment, planning, embedded coaching, measuring adoption, transition planning, and capturing learning.
• Define and monitor engagement success metrics, such as DPM capability growth, team adoption, product maturity, and DPOM outcomes.
• Convert lessons learned into reusable examples, practices, templates, and enhancements to the playbook.
• Develop trusted relationships and influence others without formal authority.
• Communicate product direction, adoption progress, risks, and decisions to both team-level and senior stakeholders.
• Escalate significant blockers, trade-offs, or alignment challenges to the Director of Product Management Catalysts.
• Doctorate degree with 2 years of experience in Digital Product, Product Management, Product Leadership, Digital Transformation, Technology Strategy, or a related field; or Master’s degree with 6 years; or Bachelor’s degree with 8 years; or Associate degree with 10 years; or high school diploma/GED with 12 years.
• At least 2 years of experience managing people and/or leading teams, projects, or programs, or directing resource allocation.
• Preferred: 5+ years of progressive experience in digital product management.
• Preferred: Experience in product strategy, discovery, roadmapping, prioritization, delivery, and outcome measurement.
• Ability to coach, mentor, or enhance the skills of product managers, product owners, business partners, or cross-functional team members.
• Strong product management competencies, encompassing problem definition, product discovery, roadmap creation, OKRs, KPIs, prioritization, stakeholder alignment, and value realization.
• Experience working with cross-functional product teams within business, technology, design, data, and agile delivery environments.
• Capability to function as a hands-on player-coach.
• Ability to transition teams from output-focused delivery to outcome-oriented product management.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management abilities; capacity to influence without formal authority.
• Comfort in ambiguous situations, diagnosing team needs, and creating actionable paths forward.
• Preferred: Experience contributing to product playbooks, standards, templates, training, or operating model enhancements.
• Preferred: Experience in healthcare, biotechnology, regulated industries, high-tech, digital, consulting, or product-led organizations.
• Preferred: Familiarity with AI-native product development, generative AI workflows, responsible AI principles, and the role of AI in product management.
